He Puts People Before His Own Convenience
My husband and I moved into the Collegedale area just over a year ago. My husband and I moved into the Collegedale area just over a year ago. Initially, we lived with my son and his family while looking for the ideal retirement home. We did not realize it then, but the search would take the better part of five months. The real estate agent that we relied on through this exhausting process was Darwin White. He came to us by reputation as patient, knowledgeable, honest to a fault, and entirely trustworthy. He realized that here were two retired folks who had not moved for nearly thirty years and would have many questions, (and were never quite satisfied with the many homes they saw!), yet treated us with the greatest respect and courtesy. It is entirely possible that for all the money and time Mr. White spent driving us about, and calling us when something became available, that when we finally did close on a home, his profit margin must have been very slim. Nevertheless, imagine our surprise when he and his wife brought us an enormous fruit basket as our first house-warming surprise! If anything, we owed him that and a great deal more. A good reputation is a virtue that is in short supply. It comes at a price and is a precious commodity once owned. We strongly believe, by our experience, that the reason we appreciate Mr. Darwin White as much as we do is that he allows people to come before his own convenience, kindness to come before his own profit and a sincere desire to build for the future by treating customers correctly now. We would absolutely recommend Darwin White to anyone considering a real estate agent.

Financing Your Home >If You Are Self Employed
There's no question that it could be more difficult for you to get a mortgage loan if you are a free lance viola player than if you are a government accountant. Traditionally, lenders have been more cautious when evaluating loan applications of buyers who are self-employed than people who work for a regular salary.
However, if you are self-employed, there is no reason for you to shy away from applying for a home mortgage loan, especially if your earnings have been in the same field for at least two years. It is a good idea to meet with one or more loan officers before you begin your search. They will probably want to analyze your tax returns for the past 2 or 3 years, keeping in mind that many self employed people can look impoverished on paper, since you can write off some expenses that salaried individuals can not. Try to get pre-approval from the lender, and ask for a letter stating that you have pre-qualified for a loan which your real estate agent can attach to any offer you submit on a home. This will make you more attractive to the sellers.
